Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

The Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has 19 beds and features state-of-the-art equipment. Our Neonatology Team is lead by neonatologists who provide 24-hour coverage.

NICU features:

  • Omnibeds
  • Special feedings: formulas, fortified breast milk, tube feeding
  • Respiratory breathing: oxygen, surfactant, respirators, inhaled nitric oxide, high frequency ventilation
  • Intravenous fluids and nutrition
  • Antibiotic therapy
  • Phototherapy
  • Blood transfusion

We practice family-centered care. Parents will not be considered visitors in our NICU, and will be encouraged to visit their baby as much as possible. Babies in the NICU will be able to have parents and authorized visitors with them 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our NICU Information Guide provides more information on your baby's care and experience in the NICU. A support group is available for parents of babies in the NICU.

Each year The Medical Center hosts the NICU Reunion to bring former NICU patients and families together. The reunion is a fun-filled event that provides an opportunity to reunite with the NICU staff who cared for the babies during their stay in the hospital.
