4C is a 22- private bed unit specializing in the care of oncology patients. Common diagnoses include cancer, neutropenia, anemia, hypercalcemia, SIADH, Tumor Lysis Syndrome, Sepsis, Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation and electrolyte imbalance. Registered nurses administer chemotherapy and provide care to patients receiving inpatient radiation treatment. Other general medical-surgical diagnoses received on our floor are pancreatitis, abdominal pain, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, deep vein thrombosis, gastrointestinal bleeding, and others.
All beds have the capability to be monitored by wireless telemetry.
4C utilizes a team approach to nursing care delivery and we have a 1:6 nurse/patient ratio.
