Labor and Delivery

Labor and Delivery has served this region as the major provider of intrapartum care since 1926. The unit consists of 11 spacious, state-of-the-art labor/delivery/recovery rooms plus four triage rooms that are designed for antepartum testing. Each labor room is equipped with a Corometrics fetal monitor and a QS documentation system. The monthly census is approximately 180-200 deliveries and 300-350 outpatients served.

Patients are referred to the unit by 14 local obstetricians and one certified nurse midwife for normal, high risk and preterm delivery, as well as high risk and preterm antepartum testing and treatment. The unit has around-the-clock access to anesthesia personnel for labor and delivery epidurals and also to ultrasound and laboratory for testing and procedures.
